Council backs union pay claim but national employers stand firm

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has backed the unions’ 5% pay claim as national employers continue to argue their 2% offer is ‘significantly more beneficial’ this year.

After a motion at a city council meeting yesterday, Stoke plans to urge the Local Government Association to make ‘urgent representations’ to Whitehall to fund the claim.
