Council in talks with government after Vauxhall blow

Cheshire West & Chester Council’s leader is monitoring the situation at Ellesmere Port ‘carefully’ after hearing hundreds face redundancy from the Vauxhall car plant.

Cllr Samantha Dixon said the authority was in discussions with the Government, local enterprise partnerships, neighbouring boroughs and Vauxhall’s France-based owner, PSA Group, as it attempts to mitigate the fall-out of the potential job losses and secure the future of the site.
