Council rejects returning to misconduct claims

West Dunbartonshire Council has rejected taking action against officers accused of misconduct despite being urged to reconsider by an audit watchdog.

A whistleblower alleged council officers had received hospitality from a supplier in exchange for contract awards in 2016, but an internal audit found the claims to be ‘unsubstantiated’ and a police investigation resulted in no action.
