Local authority schools are more likely to retain a good or outstanding Ofsted rating than those that converted to academies, a report from the Local Government Association (LGA) has suggested.
The report, commissioned by the LGA, found schools rated as requiring improvement or inadequate were also more likely to become good or outstanding if they remained council-maintained.
