Council tax collection rates in England declined slightly in 2017/18, new data from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has revealed.
The data showed that 97.11% of all council tax due was collected in 2017/18, a decrease of 0.06% from 97.17% in 2016/17.
Council tax collected by England’s local authorities has fallen from 97.37% in 2012/13.
