Council vows to improve 'volatile' relations

Maldon DC has vowed to improve ‘volatile’ relations between members and senior officers after a second peer challenge review identified concerns.

The Local Government Association review team highlighted a committee structure that leads to duplication and little focus on strategic outcomes, and tensions between members and senior officers, including a string of complaints about councillors’ behaviour.
