Councils do not have the capacity to deal with NHS measures to reduce hospital admissions, the former president of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives has warned.
Birmingham City Council’s chief executive Mark Rogers, who is one of four council representatives across the country leading a sustainability and transformation plan (STP), said it made ‘perfect sense’ to limit the escalating numbers of people using acute services.
