Councils talk housing deals with Whitehall

A group of councils has met with government officials to discuss the possibility of bespoke housing deals that could lead to relaxing the borrowing cap, The MJ understands.

Sheffield and Stoke-on-Trent city councils and Newark & Sherwood DC’s housing company are among those that have outlined a business case to the Department for Communities and Local Government in the hope of turning the proposals into ‘concrete action’.
