Councils uncovered COVID-19 figures error

An error in recording the location of COVID-19 cases has been rectified by Public Health England (PHE) weeks after it was discovered by councils.

PHE this week acknowledged that in 22,409 cases where university students had tested positive for the virus it had been recorded as occurring at their home address rather than that of their student accommodation.
