Details of ministry error will come in the summer, says Sunak

Local government minister Rishi Sunak has said a breakdown of £36m in overpayments made to 28 authorities following a Whitehall calculation error will form part of his department’s annual report this summer.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government recently informed Parliament of the error made during complex calculations linked to ongoing business rate retention pilot schemes.
