The transfer of Public Health responsibilities, in tandem with our role as providers of leisure and open space functions, provides us with opportunities to create and promote innovative health interventions that ensure communities are able to make healthier or safer choices in the way they live, work and play.

In Teignbridge, we see the value in promoting sport and leisure as a way of nudging customers into change, targeting groups that may lack time, motivation, confidence and knowledge to get fit and healthy. 
 

Key to making progress and securing positive, visible outcomes, is breaking down the barriers that are preventing women from getting involved in exercise.
