EXCLUSIVE: Government U-turn on shielding data request

The Government has rowed back from demanding councils provide a wide range of data on their shielding work after an outcry from the sector.

Under original proposals from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), the department’s new shielding directorate had wanted to collect retrospective and future shielding outcomes.
