‘Crippling’ cuts to children's services have forced councils to slash spending on abuse prevention and focus scarce resources on a rising tide of crisis interventions, new research has shown.
A damning joint report by the Children’s Society, Action for Children and National Children’s Bureau highlighted the extent to which demand for crisis support for children has risen in the wake of abuse scandals such as those in Rotherham and Rochdale.
