Electoral Commission warns 2020 polls could create administrative chaos

Electoral officers have warned the ‘unprecedented’ number of elections taking place in 2020 will create ‘significant risks’ for council administrators.

A report from the Electoral Commission said electoral administrators would face ‘additional challenges’ to ensure elections are successful in four years’ time thanks to the high number of votes taking place, including elections for local government and combined authority mayors.
