Ellesmere Port 'devastation' if car plant closes

Cheshire West & Chester Council’s deputy leader has warned of the ‘devastating’ impact if car giant Vauxhall stops production at its Ellesmere Port factory.

Karen Shore said the area was braced for the worst after the owner of Vauxhall, PSA, warned that cars would be built in southern Europe if Brexit made the Cheshire plant, which employs more than 1,000 people, unprofitable.
