Essex joins fair funding campaign

Essex CC has launched a campaign for fairer funding from government, amid growing concern that county councils are losing out to cities such as London.

Cllr David Finch, the Conservative leader of Essex, said the current situation whereby London councils receive £593 per resident in government funding, compared to £193 in Essex, is no longer sustainable.
