Former home secretary Jacqui Smith will chair the board of the new Sandwell Children’s Social Care Trust.
Ms Smith, a former Labour MP for Redditch, will lead a board tasked with improving local multi-agency working for services designed to protect vulnerable children. The board will also focus on driving the trust’s innovation agenda.
