EXCLUSIVE: LGA 'confused' by great spending deal, says Clark

The Local Government Association’s (LGA) initial negative reaction to the spending review was because it was ‘confused’ by how good it was, communities secretary Greg Clark has claimed. 

Speaking to The MJ in the aftermath of the review, Mr Clark suggested:  ‘It was a very good result for local government and it reflected the fact we had listened very carefully. What the sector said loud and clear was that social care needed to be addressed.’
