The man heading a review into Marsham Street’s oversight of the business rates system is approaching councils for their views.
Then-local government secretary Sajid Javid enlisted former Valuation Office Agency chief executive Andrew Hudson to carry out the probe into ‘processes and procedures’ at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) following a £36m overpayment due to a mistake involving business rate retention pilots.
