Fresh calls made for overhaul of children’s services

An expert has called for a comprehensive shakeup of children’s services amid fears councils will increasingly be ‘picking up the pieces of troubled young lives’.

A report by The Children’s Society last week revealed that the wellbeing of young people was on the decline as issues such as homelessness and the fear of crime increasingly blighted their lives.
