Fresh inquiry over business rates

The Communities and Local Government Committee has launched a fresh inquiry into the implementation of 100% retention of business rates.

The inquiry is aimed at completing work by its predecessor committee, which published an interim report shortly before the June General Election. The legislation to implement the measure fell when Parliament was dissolved in May and it was not included in the Queen’s Speech.
