Funding affordable housing in future

News that the Government has signalled an intention to review the way affordable housing (AH) is delivered, through a revision to the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and S106 contributions, has sparked a bit of a debate in recent weeks, probably spurred on by the fact we have been waiting for ‘something to happen’.

In practice we really do have to wait and see, but while the real CIL and Section 106 experts get down to business we can ponder on what the goal is here; what is the Government trying to achieve?
