Government urged to overhaul public health laws

Local authority public health leaders are urging the government to overhaul legislation as the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) sheds temporary workers taken on during the COVID-19 pandemic.

President of the Association of Directors of Public Health, Jim McManus, said his organisation was working constructively with the new agency and with local government colleagues in environmental health on the framework of a new public health system.
