Councils clamber for post-Grenfell funding

The Conservative chairman of the Local Government Association has called for Whitehall to fund 'exceptional' costs arising from the Grenfell Tower disaster.

Lord Porter's intervention came after communities secretary Sajid Javid claimed not even one council had asked the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) for financial assistance.
