Hertfordshire faces uncertain financial future

Officers at Hertfordshire CC have warned an estimated £2m budget overspend could balloon in future years with the end of government COVID-19 support grants.

The council is projected to end the current financial year with a £1.9m budget gap, with the most significant extra cost coming from children’s services.
