Hotel levy talks over Commonwealth Games

Talks between Birmingham City Council and the Government over how the Commonwealth Games will be funded are continuing, The MJ understands.

The council has been lobbying for a hotel levy and the ability to raise a supplementary business rate without the need to hold a ballot.
