Hull bids to pilot Universal Basic Income

Hull City Council has launched a bid to pilot the introduction of Universal Basic Income (UBI).

Chief executive Matt Jukes has written to chancellor Sajid Javid for Government support to trial the scheme, under which everyone in the city would receive a fixed amount of money each week.
