Independent CIC criticised by auditors - reports

Internal auditors in Warrington have reportedly criticised an independent community interest company (CIC) over the construction of a £19m leisure centre.

The BBC reported that auditors had raised concerns that Livewire, the council’s leisure services provider, had spent large sums on the project before the contract for the Great Sankey Hub had been formally signed and before the business case or loan arrangements had been approved.
