Interim chief secures £400k settlement

The man expected to become Slough Council’s next permanent chief executive before his council leader backer was ousted has secured a £440,000 settlement to leave, The MJ understands.

Full council had been asked to approve the permanent appointment of interim chief executive Roger Parkin in November but the item was withdrawn after James Swindlehurst replaced Sohail Munawar as leader.
