Communities secretary Sajid Javid has insisted that the upgrading of social care in prime minister Theresa May's reshuffle will not affect the role of his department.
His comments came shortly after a stern warning from Local Government Association (LGA) chairman Lord Porter that the sector would be ‘buggered’ if council money made its way into the hands of the NHS.
