Javid considers gradual introduction of 100% rates retention

The move to 100% business rates retention could happen gradually, communities secretary Sajid Javid has revealed.

Appearing in front of the Communities and Local Government Committee, Mr Javid said a ‘more graduated’ introduction as opposed to a ‘big bang approach’ was being considered so further rates retention could happen sooner.
