Kent districts urged to drop unitary aims

Kent CC’s leader has called on the four districts contemplating a merger to distance themselves from the idea they will eventually become a unitary.

Cllr Paul Carter, who is also chairman of the County Councils’ Network, said he was ‘concerned’ about rumours the super district planned by Canterbury, Dover, Shepway and Thanet DCs would ultimately seek to break free.
