London Councils has told the Government that rising children’s services pressures are forcing councils to overspend to an unsustainable degree.
Officers from the representative body recently met Department for Communities and Local Government officials to report the headline findings from a survey on financial pressures, which revealed ‘considerable and persistent’ overspending in children’s social care.
