LGA: Social workers should be respected like doctors

The Government needs to invest in social work career development so the profession achieves the same respect and reverence as doctors and nurses, council leaders argue today.

Social work must be made into a desirable occupation that provides opportunities for a ‘rewarding and fulfilling career with good development opportunities’, the Local Government Association (LGA) said.
