LGA calls for more cash to tackle air polution

The Local Government Association has responded coolly to a ministerial invitation for councils to bid for a slice of £2m through the Air Quality Grant Scheme.

Environment minister Rebecca Pow said: ‘Local authorities are in the best position to address the issues they face around their roads and we are looking forward to receiving ideas for innovative schemes to reduce emissions and encourage cleaner, more active transport.’
