LGA calls for plan as shielding is lifted

A plan will need to be put in place to protect those who have been receiving food parcels, and will struggle to pay for supermarket delivery slots, the Local Government Association has warned.

As the Government announced an end to shielding from the 1 August, chairman of the LGA’s community wellbeing board, Cllr Ian Hudspeth, said councils had worked with the NHS, communities and volunteers to protect those who are isolated.
