LGA presses for increase in asylum-seeking children funding

Pressure is growing on the Government to deliver on promises to improve funding for councils supporting children who are seeking asylum.

The Local Government Association has been in talks with immigration minister Caroline Nokes over the financial pressures of providing care and support to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC).
