Leaders risk referendums to do the right thing

Local election day always throws up something interesting, but this year will be more interesting than most. May 4, 2017 will also see two referendums – at least.

Despite recent referendum debacles – the Scottish National Party going to the polls over independence and failing; David Cameron going to the polls over Brexit and failing – two counties are following suit with public votes of their own.
