Leese takes up deputy post to Manchester Mayor Burnham

Manchester City Council’s Labour leader, Sir Richard Leese, has been appointed as deputy to newly-elected Greater Manchester metro mayor Andy Burnham.

Sir Richard, who has led Manchester City Council since 1996, will be the Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s deputy mayor for business and economy.
