Lessons from Croydon's review into the causes of youth violence and exploitation are also relevant to other areas

With young people’s safety a concern across the UK, Croydon has taken the brave step of commissioning a ground-breaking independent review to understand, and ultimately tackle, the root causes of serious youth violence and exploitation.

Following the tragic deaths of three young people in summer 2017, our safeguarding partnership united to take action. We undertook a detailed study of those three young people’s lives, together with 57 others we identified as particularly vulnerable to being victims and/or perpetrators of crime and exploitation.
