Liverpool chief Ged Fitzgerald suspended

Liverpool City Council has launched an independent disciplinary investigation into its chief executive Ged Fitzgerald.

Mr Fitzgerald, who has been away from the council since he was arrested in May on suspicion of conspiring to pervert the course of justice and witness intimidation, has now been suspended.
