Local government pension reforms challenged

The legality of proposed reforms to local government pension schemes (LGPS) has been questioned.

Northern LGPS, a pool of council pension funds covering Merseyside, Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire, has produced legal advice suggesting the new guidance from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) goes beyond its legal remit.
