MPs to investigate children’s services

MPs have launched an inquiry into the funding of children’s services amid a row over chancellor Philip Hammond’s pledge of more money in the Budget.

Although overall spending has increased by 3.5%, the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee will look at the impact of the 7% decrease in funding of discretionary services between 2010/11 and 2016/17.
