Medway habits must change, officers warn

Medway Council’s ‘reliance on windfalls’ is unsustainable after increased income from local taxation allowed it to balance its 2018/19 budget, senior councillors will be warned.

The council’s final overspend for the year was £1.99m but the 100% retention of additional business rates growth through the Kent and Medway pilot meant it could make a £2.8m contribution to its general reserves.
