Ministers urged not to redistribute EU funding via Barnett Formula

Britain’s government should not default to the out-dated Barnett Formula when seeking to replace EU structural funding and investment streams after Brexit, experts have warned.

The Brexit Advisory Commission for Public Services has urged Whitehall to think beyond the current Barnett Formula mode of distributing cash to devolved nations or regions according to population size once the Brexit deal is completed.
