Liverpool City Council’s Lib Dem leader, Cllr Richard Kemp, has called for the authority’s political leadership to ‘consider its position’ after a police investigation widened.
It is understood that the council’s director of regeneration and employment, Nick Kavanagh, was one of five people arrested by detectives yesterday in connection with an investigation into alleged bribery and corruption.
