NAO slams DfE’s apprenticeship programme

The National Audit Office (NAO) has criticised the Department for Education’s (DfE) handling of the apprenticeships programme.

The watchdog said the Whitehall department, which assumed sole responsibility for the programme in July, has not yet set out how it intends to increase the number of apprenticeships or improve the mix of different options on offer to young people.
