New indemnity mutual: We have learnt from LAML

The advisers behind the Local Government Association’s (LGA) new indemnity mutual insist they have learnt from the sector’s previous forays into insurance.

A 2009 Court of Appeal ruling that Brent LBC breached EU procurement rules when it formed a mutual insurance firm with several other London boroughs continues to hang over the sector.
