New waste fleet aids road safety

Veolia, the multinational waste management company, has responded to concerns over cyclists’ safety across Britain by developing a fleet of vehicles with improved driver vision.

The company, which operates a large number of UK council waste contracts, will spend £5m over the next two years on developing low-entry, high-vision vehicle cabs that will support Transport for London’s aims to improve road safety.
