An increasing number of London boroughs are placing families at risk of homelessness in out-of-city accommodation despite evidence suggesting that many properties are unsuitable, campaigners have claimed.

Data from 31 of London’s 33 councils, obtained by the campaign group Housing Action Southwark & Lambeth (HASL), showed that 18 of the capital’s boroughs placed families in properties outside of the city last year – up from 12 councils in 2015.
